Mark your calendars and be prepared to experience one of Arizona’s largest car shows.

The 15th Annual Collector Car Show at Tubac Golf Resort will feature approximately 500 vehicles, including, but most certainly not limited to, street rods, motorcycles, trucks and antique collector cars.

This event will take place Jan. 24, 2009, rain or shine!

It takes our committee a year and a lot of hard work to put on this great event. We hope it will be bigger and better in 2009!

2008 14th Annual Collector Car Show
January 12, 2008

Well, the 2008 car show is over and everyone is still wrapping up all the little things that have to be done before next year. If the comments that we heard from everyone about our show are correct, we had the best and most organized show ever.

On Thursday morning workers were busy at work marking the fields for spectators. Andy Szedlus and Wayne Potter were there early and everything was finished in a few hours. On Friday morning plenty of workers showed up to set up the show car field. Most of the work was done by early afternoon and a few things had to be done later, but everyone got to the BBQ on time and had a great meal.

The BBQ was booked up solid and everyone had a great time and great food. The BBQ had great entertainment by Jerry Cover, our auctioneer. We brought in over $700 for scholarships and the grad nite car donation with our auction. And of course, Jerry is very entertaining and we all laughed a lot. The day of the show turned out beautiful. It was really cold at 7am when all the faithful workers showed up to get a final briefing on their jobs for the day.

There were more car registrations this year than in a long time and our day of show proceeds exceeded past years. Roberta Rogers, the artist for our poster, was there all day autographing posters. She donated the second watercolor painting for auction at the show and there was heaving bidding between Maryann Miller and Steve McNeely, as both of their cars were in the picture. I am sure Roberta needed an aspirin for her fingers after signing posters all day. We all appreciate her generous donation of her time and the picture. She will be doing another picture for a poster next year.

Thanks go out to all the workers that put on this show, and especially to Dick
Brown for taking over the reins when we needed a chairman.
